Patent Agent
We are seeking a registered patent agent to work in our IP department, in collaboration with engineering teams and outside patent counselors to build our company’s IP foundation and licensing strategies. Ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications in Electrical Engineering and/or Physics.
Essential Duties
The primary responsibilities of the patent agent include:
- Secure Company’s IP by working closely with the R&D group, evaluate IP landscapes around R&D projects, and set a process to efficiently protect new innovations.
- File and prosecute patent applications, and maintain exiting IP portfolio.
- Work with external patent counselors.
- Establish the foundation and process to license and protect the technology to direct and indirect customers.
Experience & Education
- 2+ years of U.S. and international patent drafting and prosecution experience.
- Technical background in electrical engineering and/or physics. RF focus is a plus.
- Ability to apply innovative strategies to maximize value of the company’s intellectual property.
- Ability to learn IP-based business models, licensing strategies, and means to enforce and defend Company’s innovations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to organize, multi-task and establish priorities for protecting, licensing, and enforcing Company’s technologies.
- Pay attention to details during innovation process to protect the technology from all angles.
